Independent medical education
GSK Australia’s model for funding education initiatives for healthcare professionals targets disease areas where there is patient need and mutual scientific interest. Our support is fully at arm’s-length – we have no involvement or influence on the educational content development, logistics, selection of speakers or participants. We focus our financial resource on programmes that have the greatest potential to enable people to do more, feel better, live longer.
Our disease areas of interest change periodically. In 2018 we invested in independent medical education in the area of vaccinations in the 65+ age group. We have not used this mechanism to invest in any independent medical education in 2019. Information regarding our medical grants program is updated annually and can be found here.
