SYDNEY BUSHFIRES: Access to Emergency Asthma Medication

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Asthma Foundation NSW and the Pharmacy Guild of Australia are working in partnership to provide asthma rescue medication and asthma information to those directly affected by the Sydney bushfires.

GSK has distributed emergency supplies of asthma inhalers and spacers at no cost to 46 pharmacies in the worst affected areas including Lithgow and surrounds. These inhalers and spacers will be provided at the discretion of pharmacists at no cost to people directly impacted by the bushfires (property loss, evacuation, displacement, financial hardship).

In emergency situations people often need to leave their homes quickly and medications are left behind. GSK encourages anyone with asthma who has been directly affected by the bushfires to speak to their community pharmacists who can help access asthma medication to keep them well.

GSK Australia is also working with St Vincent de Paul Society NSW to supply consumer products to those impacted by the bushfires.
