Bushfire crisis response from GSK Australia
Including our Pharmaceuticals, Vaccines, Consumer Healthcare and ViiV Healthcare businesses
We are all deeply saddened at the devastation caused by the Australian bushfires and the impact on people and wildlife in affected communities, particularly in the states of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
In response GSK is taking a whole-of-business approach to support the bushfire crisis response. A total of $350,000 AUD is being made available for cash donations to support a combination of humanitarian and wildlife efforts:
- $200,000 AUD to the Australian Red Cross Bushfire Disaster Recovery Fund
- $50,000 AUD split across two wildlife organisations in Victoria and New South Wales
- Up to $100,000 AUD committed toward matching employee donations to charity partners Save the Children Australia and the Australian Red Cross.
We are taking every step necessary for the continued and uninterrupted supply of our medicines and vaccines to the community, working with our supply chains partners to ensure that Australians have access to essential medicines and consumer healthcare products.
To date, GSK has donated over 2,000 product units in partnership with Asthma Australia and the Pharmacy Guild of Australia. We are monitoring the situation closely and are working with our partners to assist with the supply of essential medicines and consumer healthcare products into bushfire affected regions.
Our hearts are with all of those who have been affected by the bushfires, and we are deeply grateful to all the fire fighters and emergency services teams who are working tirelessly to protect Australian people and wildlife. In this beautiful country there has been an overwhelming outpouring of generosity and kindness in response to these tragic events and we will work to ensure our contributions can make a difference to Australians during this time of need.
