Product Recall - Children's Panadol
Providing quality products and consumer safety are always our top priority and we want to ensure that consumers only have access to the best quality medicines.
For this reason, following consultation with the Therapeutic Goods Administration, we are recalling two batches of Children’s Panadol 5-12 Suspension Strawberry (200mL) and one batch of Children’s Panadol 5-12 Suspension Orange (200mL), due to the possibility of a small quantity of particulate contamination in an ingredient that is used to manufacture these products.
The batch details are:
- Children’s Panadol 5-12 Suspension Strawberry
- 48mg/mL suspension, pack size 200mL
- Batch Numbers: 136418 and 136444
- Expiry Dates: FEB 18 and FEB 18
- Children’s Panadol 5-12 Suspension Orange
- 48mg/mL suspension, pack size 200mL
- Batch Number: 136443
- Expiry Date: FEB 18
The particles may not be visible in the product and we have not received any complaints concerning these batches. This recall is a precaution to avoid any potential for the product to cause an allergic reaction in a child and/or to adversely impact the product shelf life.
If consumers do have a bottle of either of the products being recalled, we encourage them to check the batch number and expiry date immediately. The batch number and expiry date are located along the bottom of the label on the bottle, or embossed on the base of the outer box.
If the product is affected they should not use it and return it to the place of purchase for a refund, or call our GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare customer service line, 1800 028 533, for further information and support.
We would also like to reassure our consumers that no other Children’s Panadol variants, batches or products are affected by this quality incident.
