GSK granted $1 million by Federal Government for advanced manufacturing project in Boronia
GSK Australia is a recipient of a grant through of the Federal Government’s Manufacturing Transition Programme worth AUD$1 million. Funding will support GSK’s advanced manufacturing expansion plans at its Boronia site which focus on new product development using innovative “Blow-Fill-Seal” (BFS) technology.
Dave Morley, Site Director Boronia, GSK Australia, said the grant would allow GSK technical experts in Boronia to continue to enhance BFS technologies and applications, furthering GSK’s position as a leading manufacturer of sterile liquid pharmaceutical products.
“This grant will enable GSK to continue exploring the development of cost-efficient medicines which will not only benefit patients, but also help support the Australian manufacturing sector,” Mr Morley said.
“GSK looks forward to working further in collaboration with Government to build Australia’s pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities, strengthen Australian manufacturing industry amidst a competitive global market and support innovative companies like GSK which strive to provide Australian patients with access to affordable, next-generation medicines.”
