GSK Australia and New Zealand today published the second annual corporate responsibility report, outlining key achievements in health, community and environmental sustainability during 2013.

GSK Australia and New Zealand today published the second annual corporate responsibility report, outlining key achievements in health, community and environmental sustainability during 2013.

Among the 2013 highlights, we provided more than $300,000 in community donations, $325,000 in independent grants to patient advocacy groups and continued to reach major milestones to be carbon neutral by 2050.

The report also includes our decision to increase transparency in dealings with healthcare professionals and proposed plans to change sales and marketing practices.

This report takes into account not just what we do, but how we do it. It serves to provide insight into our values, our intentions and our operating principals so that all our stakeholders and consumers understand who we are.’

Key highlights include:

GSK Australia and New Zealand

  • Reduced CO2 emission at the Boronia (Victoria) manufacturing facility by 9.3 percent.
  • Continued our commitment to transparency by disclosing the total amount paid to healthcare professionals.
  • Delivered 91 clinical studies across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Provided $306,327 in grants and donations to community organisations such as Save the Children, Royal Flying Doctor Service and KidsCan NZ, and a further $325,000 to patient advocacy groups.
  • Raised more than $26,000 from employee fundraising efforts to support a new global partnership with Save the Children.
  • Spent 1,200 hours volunteering in the community.


GSK global

  • Donated the four billionth albendazol tablet to fight lymphatic filariasis and intestinal worms in developing countries.
  • Formed a long term strategic partnership with Save the Children, combing expertise, resources and capabilities to help save the lives of one million children.
  • Became the first company to publish formal reports on the design, method and results of clinical trials
  • Began rolling out an anti-counterfeiting program that will provide unique serial numbers on 200 packaging lines across 25 manufacturing sites over the next four years
