CV and cover letters
What should include in my CV?
You should tailor your CV for the job you are applying for, ensuring you clearly present all your relevant skills, experience and training. Deciding how much information to include on your CV can be difficult. A single page might not tell us enough about you, but try not to exceed three pages.
Do I need a cover letter?
It’s a good idea to include a cover letter. It complements your CV and can address specific areas that are relevant to the role you are applying for. A strong cover letter should describe specifically how you meet the competencies and requirements for the role. It’s a real opportunity to show why you feel the role would suit you. Both your CV and cover letter will be reviewed in your application.
We’ll send you an on-screen message when you submit your application to confirm we have received it. If you give us your email address, you’ll receive a further acknowledgement email when your application arrives in the recruiter's inbox. You can log in to your account at any time to check the status of your application.
CV review/phone interview
During the review process we will consider how well your CV and cover letter match the requirements of the job you have applied for. Sometimes we may contact you by phone to discuss your application in more detail. If your application is suitable for the job, we will invite you for a formal phone or face-to-face interview.
On-site interview/assessment process
During your interview, we'll ask you competency-based questions which focus on how you've used your skills, knowledge and experience in past roles. There is no right or wrong answer in these instances. You should focus on providing relevant examples of your past experience that demonstrate your ability to do the job you've applied for. Depending on the role you applied for we may ask you to complete some additional assessment exercises. These may be case studies, a presentation or exercises. The assessment requirements and process will be clearly outlined from the outset.
Interviewing with us
How can I prepare for an interview?
We will contact you by phone or email first to check your availability. We'll also send you full details by letter or email.
Preparation is the key to successful interviews. You need to be able to talk comfortably and confidently about your career and demonstrate your areas of expertise with real examples. Consider preparing a mental list of your key achievements, challenges and successes to date.

What will happen at the interview?
The interview is to help us understand:
- what makes you the ideal candidate for the job
- what is it about the role that interests you
- why do you want to work for us
The interview is a chance for us to get to know each other more. We will of course assess your abilities, but it is a two-way process. It is important you also understand our values and what it’s like working here. We welcome all your questions – have a few of them ready to ask.
During the interview we’ll ask you about your skills and experiences. Try to use real examples and remember, not all of your answers need to be work-related. We‘ll also review with you the key performance behaviours relevant to the role. Remember to keep your answers concise and relevant. If you're struggling with a question, don't feel you have to answer immediately. Take your time, think about your response. It’s OK to ask for clarification.
We understand interviews can be a bit nerve-wracking. Remember there are no right or wrong answers. We value honesty, transparency and a positive attitude. So be confident and above all, be yourself.
What happens next?
Your interviewers will decide who the most suitable candidate for the job is. We take hiring very seriously so please be patient while we make our decision. You can also contact us at any time but rest assured, we will get in touch when feedback has been received and a decision is made.
If you are selected, we will contact you to make a verbal offer. This will be followed up by a written offer letter, in which we'll explain the next steps including our pre-employment screening process.
Following your successful pre-employment screening, we'll finalise your start date and induction details.
