Australian Medicine Icon is Back!

New Children’s Panadol® 1-5 Years Suspension Now on Shelf

New Children’s Panadol® 1-5 Years Suspension Now on Shelf

Concerned consumers can now be reassured that Children’s Panadol® 1-5 years suspension is back to help relieve their little ones’ pain and fever.

Vincent Cotard, General Manager GSK Consumer Healthcare, said the last few weeks have seen an unprecedented number of calls from worried parents that the pain reliever that they are familiar with was not available.

“The level of consumer concern reminded GSK how valuable Children’s Panadol® is to Australian parents,” he said.

From Australia’s number one trusted pain reliever brand, Children’s Panadol® 1-5 years suspension will soon be on pharmacy shelves.

The Full Federal Court removed a temporary injunction that prevented GSK from selling its Children’s Panadol® 1-5 years suspension with a 10 mL syringe-based dosing device because of a patent infringement allegation by a competitor.

This decision paves the way for the release of Children’s Panadol® 1-5 years suspension which features an easy to use syringe to administer the right amount of medicine without making a mess.

GSK can now ensure that the full Children’s Panadol® range is available to Australian families as soon as possible.

“We hope the return of the product to the pharmacy shelf will alleviate any worries of our concerned customers. Children’s Panadol® is an icon of the Australian medicine cabinet and has been trusted by generations to provide fast, effective and gentle pain relief for little ones from as young as one month.

“We sincerely thank all our valued consumers for their patience during this time and apologise for any inconvenience that may have been caused, Vincent Cotard said.”

Panadol® has been rated Australia’s most trusted pain reliever brand for the 10th consecutive year in research released in July by Reader’s Digest1. Children’s Panadol® liquid products can start to reduce fever in just 15 minutes and can provide effective relief from fever and pain associated with teething, immunisation, earache, headache and cold and flu symptoms2.
